Project 1882’s Euro Tour engaged thousands for animal rights

After a long and successful journey through Europe, Project 1882 is now approaching the end of the tour “For the Animals”. The tour visited major European cities such as Helsinki, Berlin, Madrid, and Lisbon, and is now set to make its final stop of the year.

The “For the Animals” tour has highlighted the situation for the billions of animals living and dying in Europe’s factory farms, as well as raised awareness of the need for stronger animal welfare legislation within the EU.  Project 1882’s mobile exhibition has provided European citizens with a unique opportunity to truly understand the harsh reality animals face and recognize why change is both necessary and urgent.

Throughout the tour, we have shown how critical the situation is for animals, and now we will continue pushing for change both nationally and internationally, says Benny Andersson, CEO of Project 1882.

The mobile exhibition visited 21 major European cities and engaged thousands of visitors across Europe. Through interactive experiences, the public has gained insight into how animals in factory farms are treated and how important the promised update of the EU’s animal welfare legislation is. Nearly 30,000 EU citizens have signed our petition to the European Commission. The tour has also garnered significant media attention across Europe, with 56 mentions in international media, including TV stations in countries such as Croatia, Poland, Portugal, and Hungary.

– We have encountered tremendous engagement from the public and seen that there is a strong sentiment for improving the situation for animals. It is crucial that we continue to pressure decision-makers, not only in Sweden but across Europe, says Benny Andersson.

Project 1882 has grown substantially as an organization in recent years. We have expanded our international efforts for animal rights, most recently through the European tour “For the Animals”. The final stop for this year marks an important milestone, but the fight for animal rights is far from over.
