The leadership team of Project 1882 consists of the following individuals.
Chief Executive Officer

Member and volunteer since 1997. Employed since 2000. Initially worked on training and supporting Project 1882’s members and local organizations across Sweden. Benny served as Campaign Manager for several years, initiating and then leading the organization’s work with Facebook and the summer tour in Sweden. He held this role until 2010, after which he transitioned to the position of Secretary-General. Since then, he has developed the organization’s work with membership recruitment, fundraising, and advocacy efforts with companies. He has been a board member of the Eurogroup for Animals since 2019 and a board member of the World Federation for Animals since 2020.
Benny previously worked as a bank officer. He brings expertise to the management team particularly in organizational development, campaign strategy, and international collaborations.
Chief Operating Officer

Member since 2013 and employed since 2017. Initially worked on planning and implementing Project 1882's summer tour in Sweden. Has since worked as the HR manager for several years but has been serving as Acting Chief Operating Officer since the fall of 2023. Over the years, she has focused on expanding and developing the organization's HR work, particularly in the areas of the workplace environment, recruitment, and administration.
Iva has previously worked in HR and finance, including in the staffing industry. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human resource management from the University of Gothenburg. She brings expertise to the management team mainly concerning financial and HR matters and management.
Chief Operating Officer
Member since 2007 and a volunteer since 2009. Employed since 2011. Initially worked on planning and executing Project 1882’s summer tour in Sweden. She has since worked as a unit manager and has been the Chief Operating Officer since 2020. Also served on the board of The Swedish Employers’ Alliance for Non-Profit & Non-Governmental Organizations, from 2019-2020, now Fremia.
Sara-Maria has focused extensively on development and efficiency within the organization, particularly in internal administration, financial management, and HR matters. She brings expertise to the management team mainly in financial and HR matters and management.
Sara-Maria is on parental leave until fall 2024.
Director of Campaigns

Member and volunteer since 2017. Employed since 2017. Initially worked on planning and executing Project 1882’s summer tour in Sweden, serving as a tour coach for three summers and then as project manager. Currently serves as the Director of Campaigns. Primary responsibilities include leading and coordinating Project 1882’s campaign efforts at both national and international levels, as well as mobilizing and training volunteers.
Coral has a background in education. She has been a volunteer in leading animal rights organizations in Spain and Italy for several years. She brings expertise to the management team mainly in project management, campaign strategy, and international experience.
Chief Communications Officer

Member and employed since January 2021. As Chief Communications Officer, she leads the team responsible for the organization’s external communication, including media relations, marketing, and management of Project 1882’s social media channels. Project 1882’s Swedish social media channels is one of Sweden’s most successful organizations in terms of engagement and reach and has held a steady top position in the Swedish Media Academy's annual Power Barometer.
Linn has a long background in TV production and events. She brings expertise to the management team in project management, communication, and digital and moving media.
Director of Development

Member and volunteer since 2009. Employed in 2015. Initially responsible for Project 1882’s local operations in southwestern Sweden, then became Director of Development.
Previously worked on implementing and developing management systems for quality, environment, and work environment. This background has contributed to raising and streamlining the organization’s internal routines. She brings expertise to the management team mainly concerning organizational knowledge, work environment matters, and membership recruitment.
Director of Corporate Relations

Member since 2015. Employed in 2017 and has since worked with Project 1882’s corporate work. She became team leader for corporate relations in 2019 and took on the role of Director of Corporate Relations in 2023. Over the years, she has worked on developing the organization’s influence with companies both in Sweden and globally and has led her team to get nearly 150 companies to incorporate various animal welfare policies into their sustainability efforts. She focuses on Project 1882’s global work and collaborates closely with organizations within the Open Wing Alliance.
Nathalie has previously worked in the travel industry and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science. She brings expertise to the management team mainly in corporate influence, strategies, and international contacts.
Director of Public Affairs

Member and employed since 2018. His primary responsibilities include leading and distributing work within the unit responsible for public policy, as well as building relationships with politicians and decision-makers to advance Project 1882’s agenda. Sebastian is a member of the Swedish National Board of Trade’s reference group for trade and animal protection.
Sebastian holds a master’s degree in political science and was previously a full-time politician as the group leader for the Left Party in Stockholm. He brings expertise to the management team mainly in political expertise and civil society issues.
Director of Internal Support
Member since 1998. Employed in 2005. Worked with campaigns and volunteer support. Volunteered during studies and other work from 2009-2017. Returned as an employee in internal support in 2017 and became a unit manager in 2020.
Sofia has a long background in animal rights work, including experience in the UK and the US. She brings expertise to the management team mainly in organizational knowledge and administrative optimization.
