Radisson Hotel Group has promised to phase out eggs from caged hens, but instead of taking important steps toward a cage-free future, they are removing their deadline. Now we demand that one of the world’s largest hotel chains keeps its promise to hens worldwide.
In 2019, Radisson Hotel Group promised to phase out all eggs from caged hens by 2025. This was an important decision for the animals. But as the end of the year approaches, Radisson is choosing to break its promise and remove its deadline. There is a lack of both transparency and a clear plan for how the goal will be achieved globally, especially in regions such as Asia, Latin America, and Africa, where an enormous number of hens are forced to live their lives in cages.
Radisson Hotel Group is one of the world’s largest hotel chains, operating in over 115 countries. If they keep their promise to the hens, it will impact the lives of millions of individuals who are currently confined to small cages. Over 2,500 companies worldwide have already chosen to say no to cages. Hotel chains such as Accor, Meliá, and InterContinental Hotels report extensively on their global commitments for hens.
Project 1882 urges Radisson Hotel Group to reinstate its deadline and to set public, concrete, and detailed plans for how the goal will be achieved. They need to report progress now – both globally and regionally.
