Denmark to phase out fur farming
The Danish government has announced that the farming of mink for fur production will be phased out by August 2029. Project 1882 welcomes the decision and sees it as an important victory for the animals.

Campaign progress: Woolrich Europe adopts fur-free policy
International outerwear brand Woolrich Europe has officially announced a fur-free commitment after the campaign that Project 1882 has run together with other animal rights organisations. The announcement comes following more than 200,000 emails sent to the company by consumers, as well as public demonstrations outside stores across Europe.
Sweden proves: A fur farming ban is cheaper than new EU welfare standards
Phasing out the EU’s fur industry would cost considerably less than introducing new animal welfare regulations. This is shown in a new report which highlights Sweden as a leading example.

- Putting pressure on politicians and authorities to change the laws that affect animals in the fur industry, at EU level. The fur farms must be phased out as soon as possible.
- By being part of the international cooperation Fur Free Alliance (FFA) together with over 50 animal rights and animal welfare organizations. Together we are working for a fur-free world.
- Influencing companies to adopt fur-free policies, which are compiled in the list called Fur Free Retailer organised by FFA worldwide.
