Protests across Europe urge Radisson to go cage-free

Last week, Project 1882 organised protests outside Radisson hotels in two major Swedish cities. At the same time, seven protests took place in London. Our demand: that the hotel chain reinstate its deadline for phasing out cage eggs.

Radisson Hotel Group has committed to phasing out all eggs from caged hens by 2025. However, instead of taking meaningful steps toward a cage-free future, the company has now removed its deadline altogether. That’s why Project 1882 took to the streets outside Radisson hotels in Stockholm and Malmö, drawing significant attention from both hotel staff and passersby.

Last week's protests in Sweden are part of a global campaign. Around the world, animal rights organisations are raising their voices outside Radisson hotels to call on the company to honour its commitment and its promise to hens worldwide. During the same week, protesters also gathered outside seven hotels in London, demanding that Radisson reinstate its cage-free deadline and set public, concrete, and detailed plans for how the goal will be achieved.

More than 2,500 companies have already taken a stand against the confinement of hens in cages. Among them are other major hotel groups such as Accor, Meliá, and InterContinental Hotels, which publicly report on their global commitments to improve the welfare of laying hens.

Project 1882 urges Radisson Hotel Group to take responsibility by reinstating its deadline and publishing clear, transparent plans on how to achieve its cage-free goal. We demand empty cages, not empty promises.
